Tuneup your netbook...

Although some consumers are disappointed by netbooks performances, (cheap and small doesn't equal robust and fun, although most like the unit they just don't like the performance of it) here are some versions of Linux that can cut the processor demand...

Twitter for your dinner? What about a Library Scavenger Hunt iPhone app?

Strange Hotel X is finally named and getting started... High Tech Services... Vintage furnishings...

Although this is not in the library the idea is straight forward and could make the ultimate summer reading adventure at the library... Monsters, Heros, ect. leaping out on the iPhone game as you pass them in the library... Alot of setup as every library layout is unique, but kids would love it!

Bing vs. Google

Although I find this information of little use now there has already been an eye-tracking study done between the two big search engines (Bing=Microsoft's new search - VS - Google).

It is interesting, but eye movement will bound to be different on Bing for many months until people see the differences. A better study would be several months from now when the new car smell starts to wear out.

Updated Crew Manual Online

Although this is not really technology, it is important for libraries to stay up to date on weeding materials. Now one of the common weeding methods has been updated and is available online at the Texas State Library.
